Fazenda Rainha (Queen Farm) is owned by the renowned Carvalho Dias family, a prestigious coffee family in Brazil. The farm has a history of over a century and is located in the mountainous region near the border with Minas Gerais, in São Paulo state. With an average annual temperature of just 19°C, the coffee cherries grow more slowly but with sufficient density. The excellent geographic location and climate make this place ideal for producing specialty coffee with a uniquely sweet flavor, representing high-quality Brazilian coffee.
The coffee cherries are harvested when fully ripe, handpicked, and placed on a cloth to prevent contact with the ground. After harvesting, the cherries are depulped and spread out on drying patios, where they are slowly dried under full sunlight until reaching a moisture level of 11%. They are then stored in wooden warehouses.
All of the farm's workers live on-site, eliminating the uncertainty of temporary workers and ensuring they receive appropriate health insurance and medical assistance. Recently, the workers built a second Pedro Roza Information Technology School and a church designed by Oscar Niemayer, reflecting the farm's commitment to taking care of its employees and promoting sustainability.
Le Brewlife® Brazilian COE Champion - Fazenda Rainha was awarded a "92" score in the 2021 Coffee Review, the International Coffee Evaluation in the United States!
